Congratulations to our new Nursing Assistants

Our first cohort of Colleagues are celebrating after completing Advinia Health Care’s Nursing Assistant Programme.

Team members from Elderslie Nursing Home in Paisley and Newcarron Court Nursing Home in the village of Newcarron are the first Scottish Colleagues to complete the new training.

The Nursing Assistant Programme is specifically designed to enhance the skills of Senior Care Assistants so that they can provide additional care support.

The comprehensive training, which took 10 months to complete, included areas on clinical skills, leadership and management, person-centred care and living with dementia.

Upon successfully completing the programme, the Nursing Assistants are able to support with some of the more clinical aspects of care, for example venepuncture and routine observations.

This then enables Nurses to focus on more advanced clinical concerns and ensure that all of our Residents care needs are met.

Our newly qualified Colleagues were awarded with their certificate, badge and appreciation card by Advinia Health Care CEO, Mark Cash, at a special presentation last month.

During the presentation Mark said how delighted he was at their achievement and their diligence in completing the programme.

He said: “I’m very impressed by the efforts of all our Colleagues here today – it’s wonderful to be able to present their certificates after 10 months of hard work.

“Our Nursing Assistants will provide vital support for our Nurses – they’ll work together as a team to provide more holistic care.

“Their new knowledge and skills will have a very positive impact on Residents because it means we can provide better and more bespoke care.

“Everything we do at Advinia is focused on improving the experiences and care of Residents. Ensuring that our Colleagues have access to such a comprehensive development programme is a fantastic way to do this.”
