June’s ‘Special Wish’ Comes True During Chauffeur Day Out
Annan Court Resident June Wiffen enjoyed a VIP day out back in March before lockdown when she was whisked off in a chauffeur-driven vintage car.
The 85-year-old was the first Resident at the Home to take part in their new ‘Special Wish’ initiative.

Each Resident will get an extra-special day out that has a link to their past as part of the scheme.
For June, who used to run a business that involved chauffeur-driven cars with her late husband Albert, the chance to ride in a Royal Windsor vintage car was perfect.
Activities Co-ordinator June Fitzpatrick said that June thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
June said: “We had help from June’s family to arrange this special day for her and we didn’t tell her that it was happening until her chauffeur turned up.
“She lit up when she saw Alex Graham, her chauffeur, and the Royal Windsor car.
“June is a very active lady, and she doesn’t like sitting down for too long, but she loved the drive and had a great time posing for pictures when the local press came to take her photo.”
Given that Annan isn’t far from Gretna Green, the infamous location for many weddings, June was able to get in touch with local businesses who could help make Resident June’s ‘Special Wish’ come true.
June said: “We were very fortunate that Gretna Wedding Bureau and Willowgrove Cars agreed to work with us to help make this happen.
“June had a fantastic time and particularly loved posing with Alex’s chauffeur’s hat!”
