Welcome to Bedford Care Home

The Lancashire town of Leigh is historically known for its industry, and it's also where you'll find Bedford too. Bedford is made up of six houses that are designed to offer various levels of care in a supportive environment.

Each of our six homes can accommodate up to 30 residents. Beech House is a dedicated dementia house, Pennington House specialises in dementia nursing, Lilford and Astley Houses are for residential care, while Croft and Kenyon Houses both focus on general nursing care.

Life at Bedford Care Home

We want our residents to enjoy themselves at Bedford, so we believe an important part of that is to create a series of interesting and engaging activities for them to take part in.

Our activities

Whether it's inside the home or out, there's plenty to get involved in at Bedford. We give residents all the opportunity they need to continue with an existing hobby, as well as encourage them to maybe try something new as well. From arts and crafts sessions to board games like bingo and dominoes, the range on offer has been designed to make sure that every resident has something to do during the day.

Each month we hold a themed event that is based on the time of the year – Christmas, Pancake Day, Mother's Day – and we regularly get involved in a number of charitable and community events.

When we go out on a trip we like to do something fun, so it might be a ride over to Manchester to Harry Ramsden's for fish and chips or heading out on a barge from Wigan Pier. Other activities enjoyed by our residents include: Seasonally themed monthly events, mobile library, visits from local entertainers and regular days out.
