Person-centred care
Person-centred care is all about paying attention to the details of daily life that are important to Residents and encouraging them to make informed decisions about their own care. We ensure Colleagues make time to talk everything through with Residents, helping them live a meaningful life in the way they choose.
Alongside our own nursing care, we are supported by a Registered GP who makes regular on-site visits. Team members are also always happy to assist Residents in making appointments with specialist practitioners such as dentists, opticians and chiropodists. And if Residents feel like a spot of pampering, our in-Home hair salon is available to help Residents to look and feel good.
Living life to the full
At Norwood Care Home in Barrhead we offer a busy programme of activities encouraging Residents to inject their own personality into the events and classes on offer. Whether it is gardening, embroidery, or sculpture it’s never too late to learn a new skill. Currently, our most popular activities include bingo, quiz nights, karaoke and arts & crafts.
We are proud to be part of the thriving Barrhead community so annual trips to the panto, as well as intergenerational links and activities with nearby schools are much enjoyed. Our daytrips and excursions are also a highlight and include visits to local museums and shopping centres.
Dining and nutrition
Mealtimes are truly something to look forward to at Norwood where our talented team of chefs are always developing new and nutritious seasonal menus. They never miss an opportunity to celebrate an occasion, whether it is a Resident’s birthday with a home-baked, personalised cake, or a Haggis on Burns Night, it is always a treat. We welcome suggestions and always cater for personal tastes and Residents can leave feedback on the menus via questionnaires.
