Welcome to Maycroft Residential Care Home

Maycroft is situated in the quiet village of Meldreth within easy reach of Cambridge and London. Maycroft accommodates those with varying degrees of mental frailty, from dementia to Alzheimer’s disease. In Maycroft we put emphasis on creating a family atmosphere whilst providing the best care. The home is registered to provide personal care for people with dementia under and over 65 years.

At Maycroft Care Home we make sure to keep everyone happy and comfortable. One of the ways in which we do this is to offer your loved ones the best accomodation that we can.

  • 21 comfortable bedrooms, all single with ensuite including showers
  • Good access for disabled residents, including toilets and bathrooms
  • Spacious lounges and dining area giving choice for activity, relaxation and enjoying meals
  • Rooms with flat panel TV's 
  • Windows and doors with safety features
  • Residents are encouraged to personalise their room within Health & Safety Regulations

Health and Wellbeing

The health and wellbeing of our residents is a priority.  We make sure we reach our goal by ensuring:

  • Individualised Personal Care Plans
  • A daily varied menu of fresh, nutritious food, catering for special dietary and cultural needs.
  • Birthday and special events celebrated with relatives/friends.
  • Professional services from general practitioners/dentists/ opticians/ chiropodists.
  • Religious needs catered for through visits by clergy of residents’ choice.


Maycroft has a range of activities to take part in, all of which are varied to suit the needs of each of our residents. Some of our more popular activities include:

  • Activities Co ordinator Monday - Friday who encourages a wide range of crafts and activities including knitting, games, quizzes and bingo 
  • Newly created Activities Room, where relatives can make their own drinks and snacks
  • Regular music and dance activities, including movement classes
  • Seasonal events such as Summer, Christmas and Easter fetes
  • Hairdressing
  • Chiropodist visits every 8 weeks to provide pedicures
  • BBQ'S during the summer months
  • Regular outings to performances, picnics and restaurants
  • Residents and Relatives meetings every 8 weeks
  • Relatives are actively encouraged to be involved in all aspects of their loved ones needs and requirements
