A Life-Saving Legacy: Marty Weir’s Family Donates to Arncliffe Court Care Home

Arncliffe Court Care Home recently received a life-saving gift in memory of a young local man, Marty Weir, whose tragic passing has inspired his family to create meaningful change in the community.

Lydia, our Activity Coordinator, reached out to Clare and Martin Weir after learning about their mission to donate LifeVac devices to local establishments in Halewood, Marty’s hometown. The couple generously responded, gifting one of these vital devices to Arncliffe Court.

Marty’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness. He lost his life while out for a meal, an incident that may have been preventable with the right equipment on hand. Determined to honour Marty’s memory, his parents have been spreading awareness and donating LifeVac devices—a powerful tool designed to assist in choking emergencies—to prevent similar tragedies.

The LifeVac is now located in Arncliffe Court’s main foyer, standing as both a tribute to Marty and a potential lifesaver for anyone in need.
